I'm Don Carr, owner and principle at Black Rhino Media, a content creation and consulting company that uses bare-knuckle communications for a better world. I’m also the author of the upcoming eco-thriller The Midnight Rambler coming December 2023 from Koehler Books.

For over fifteen years I’ve developed and led effective communications for political campaigns, social movements and environmental causes. From long-form investigations to to blogs to podcasts -- creating good, original content is the foundation of my work.

In addition to my private consulting work, I’ve been a Senior Communications and Policy Advisor for the Environmental Working Group, a Senior Communications Manager at the Environmental Defense Fund and a Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee.

A few of Black Rhino’s clients include Earth Justice, Honor the Earth, the Plant Based Foods Association, the National Black Farmers Association, and the Partnership for Public Integrity.

As a freelance journalist I've written for Sierra Magazine, Grist, Civil Eats and the Food and Environment Reporting Network and for five years I wrote about movies and music for the Washington DC City Paper.
